I guess women tend to stay fighting for the relationship until the last minute. I guess he wanted the break up to be done by you, so that he would spare himself from the torment on whether he did the right thing or not. He wanted YOU to do this so that later he could blame you. This was quite the hesitant, indecisive man. A coward. For sure a man that still doesn't know what he wants.
