Maybe this might be an answer? Young children think that the world revolves around them, that everything that happens has something to do with them (they think that they caused their parent's divorce for example). Folks like us here didn't develop emotionally. Yes, our physical bodies are older but emotionally, because of our environment while growing up, we didn't get beyond 4 or 5 or something. So without emotional development you might still think that the world revolves around you and that everything is your fault????????????

Good news is that you can continue on with your emotional development now and let the emotional development catch up with your actual age......
