We want to work with our present understanding of our past. Not sure when you've written your therapist letter, but if you're like me, opinions of the past can change in a moment.

We don't want the complete history. You may be repeating much of what's in the letter, but spontanaity of the present is what we want.

You could start by remembering a specific incident. What happened. How did you respond? What were your feelings and conclusions? How did it shape your future?

The trail of questions will lead us through the assortment of experiences connected to that incident. We only need to get started, then let nature take its course. It would be best if you can start with your earliest memory related to feeling invalidated.
