Want another ace in the hole? Ask your current boss for a letter of recommendation for any future jobs you may apply for in the same field. It will give you a bit more leverage.

Wow, I must say this has taken me a very long time to post to, because I wasn't quite sure what to say. First off, I am THRILLED you are going home, sooner than anticipated. I know how much you need to do this FOR YOU (and that's me waaaaaaay back in the corner with the pom-poms).

Second, I wish you nothing but happiness and good vibes. Being close to your family will be make the battle with the demon that much easier. My fingers are crossed that you find doctors as wonderful as the ones you have here that have helped you discover the wonderful person you are, always were and always will be.
