Have you brought this up in therapy? It sounds like your anxiety is really feeding this and making it feel real, maybe trying to tell yourself over and over again that just because you worry about something doesn't make it true will help. Also when you start to notice the thought process starting maybe you could disrupt it by using a distraction or some relaxation techniques.
