welcome to pc. hope4happy.  sometimes when i am jammed up nothing happens...cause i'm made myself unable to focus. these are difficult times economically for many ppl. i wish you the very best in finding employment. keep knockin' on those doors..each one brings you closer to "yes"...it's the odds... 
as for grad school...maybe some brisk exercising will help clear your mind. sounds like you're on overload and need to step back if for just a moment.
