I'm very proud of all of my children but today I am especially proud of my boy!
My son is ten and started playing squash about three weeks ago. Squash is a bit like tennis except it is played in a small room hitting the ball against a wall. It is a very fast paced game and involves a lot of skill in guessing what the opponent will do next. He seemed to have a natural ability for the game so I have been taxi-Mum so that he could practice.
Anyway, I entered him into a major competition, The Junior Squash Grand Prix. He has been there all day and competing against over 50 players. I thought it would be a good experience for him and he would have an enjoyable day with friends.
Well, I never expected him to walk through the door with a big gold medal round his neck! First place! Woohoo!!
