Did it hurt your feelings that he didn't trust you even though you had been good to yourself and had not done anything? And you even told him that you really wanted to but you had not.

It would have been nice to get a pat on the back or some sweet words acknowledging the success of your restraint. But he probably wasn't thinking that way. Not necessarily a bad thing, just how he was.

Maybe you can ask for a hug to help validate your feelings. That would be much better than going for the comb.
