THINGS THAT HAVE HELPED ME:
A)I know you said that you can't turn it off cuz you need it, BUT it would be good practice and or a lesson for you each & every time if you turned it off completely, went for a 15 min stretch or break but away from your course work. Than when you came back 2 ur course work, & re-turned the computer on, it might be a reminder 2 yourself of how much a pain in the butt it is to have to wait 4 ur comp 2 upload all the time, and telling urself, "yes, but I am the one doing it to myself so if I want more time 4 my work by not always waiting 4 the bloody comp to turn on, I need to stop playing.
B) Set a timer for play time. Do Not go over the timer, even if in the middle of a roll on a game. Should set yourself up on a game or here for 10 mins, half an hour whateves, but picking something that will only take up that time.
C) Say it was a profile that took me forever, that was detrimental (poor spelling) to that site, I would completely delete it. Than I wouldn't be able to use that site & it would be one thing more that I would have more time/space for.
They're all real hard, just like anything a person may want to change in their lives. It's an addiction, so baby steps whatever best works for you.
I am guessing that this course work just isn't catching and holding your attention? Figure out a way that it will? It is an online course? Where you can get ahold of other online students? Maybe ask them what they do or did to keep on a part that is slowing your focus down...?
Hope you get it figured out.
Take Care.
