((inkblot))) caring for others is always a good idea.. you are able to understand the karmic effect of what goes around comes around and im sure you are doing all you are able to pay it forward for the driver... its a little funny, but not... ive been in a similar situation as this nearly exactly .. ive worked with the homeless in my own ways and i see exactly what you are talking about..
what i can tell you is this.... the driver has his blinders on for some reason... not intentionally necessarily, but, the blinders are still on... you come along, as a caring person, wanting to protect, and, as a caring person, you are feeling frustration that the one you are trying to help, doesnt 'get it'....
a few of us here can understand what you are saying and you feel pinned against the wall with this....
what you can do is continue speaking your truth... the 'group' needs to accept safety as a real factor within itself and protect itself.. the way this is done is by encouraging it between the members...
sometimes we have to know how much others are capable of giving...
with the homeless it is nearly always a desperate affair and those homeless groups who havent lost sight of family connections, be it with friends or genetic family, have the best chances of survival...
sometimes we need to know the safe boundaries of saving ourselves while we are trying to help others...
you, as a helper, need to stay alive.... they, as sufferers, need to get the help that is offered...
you can walk away, but you will carry your conscience with you everywhere and you are trying for a 'clear' consciousness...
trying your best goes a little ways towards freeing you and still, there are those who are suffering...
you cant fix them all... there are programs for these ones...
let others help you, just as you are trying to help others...
as individuals we can only accomplish a limited amount.. in teams, we can do more...
are there 'night-rider' type groups in your area you can turn to for help on this?
sometimes letting go and turning over the problem to those better supplied to assist is whats needed...
there are many on the streets who need this extra help....
i am hoping your community offers some type of program for these very unfortunates....
if not, we have the ability to grass-root our own causes and you can probably find help within your community... look around and if you just cant let go of the concern, try to pull a team together...
bottom line is, these guys have to care about themselves a little bit... just a little helps make your life a lot easier
hope this helps some
