I do not officially have AS but my T and I have discussed it. There is autism in my family(very severe cases) so maybe.......

I wonder the scope or the severity of your AS and wonder if there are other factors at play.

The only thing I can say for any certainty is that if you crave companionship and intimicy, you kind of have to work at loving your TRUE self and not really giving a damn what other people think.........very hard but once small victories happen, it gets easier and easier.

It took me all my life up untill the last 4 years to realise this........I am not an affectionate person and don't like to be touched much but that does not mean that I do not need to be loved........I just wouldn't settle for someone who did not love me......for me. And I have found that.

Once you start to love yourself and never make excuses for who you are........others will follow....

Have faith........we are with you
I am 31 at the end of the month and I have gone more 30 years before I found out. I only found out since i was sent to a T because of a car accident, so I have only know since Sept 2008. I'm sure i have other problems too. I have depression and social phobia now. Since my car accident, lots of mental things have hit me. I have a large cyst, what he called it, (3.4 cm) on part of my brain and the doc is not sure if i was born with it or the accident caused it. From my research, i think i was born with it and it is part of the cause of my AS. My T also used high functioning autism too. But feels i am more AS.
Thanks for this!
