I love it! I started sending out "spam" to several agencies today about my new website and I just got a reply back--someone is interested in possibly making a donation to my site! I wasn't even really seeking donations--just the publicity!
The guy brought up a point about my name on the website--"Pads Chicago"--and if I have permission to use the name Pads. The way I see it is that I was going by the generalization of the actual pads on floor that the homeless sleep on, not PADS, the official acronym for the shelter system Public Action to Deliver Shelter. I don't think it's copyrighted or anything, but I really don't know for sure. I suppose I should look into it and maybe check with a lawyer or something?
The other thing this brings up is to possibly make myself/site an actual charitable 501 c3 organization. Does anyone know if this is easy or costs to apply for it, how its done? I know, probably another issue to discuss with a lawyer.
Which brings up another item. Anybody know a good lawyer?! LOL!
