Wow! What a great idea.

This could end up being one of the most fascinating forums on the site.

I like Paul McKenna as a self-help author. He has recently released a book I Can Make You Sleep, which looks quite good. I have only skimmed through it myself.

Dream interpretation is a fascinating business. I definitely believe it is possible, although I'm somewhat sceptical of its practical value.

Books I have read about this include:

The Interpretation of Dreams, and On Dreams by Sigmund Freud.

Dreams, Memories, and Reflections, by Carl Jung.

The Innocence of Dreams by Charles Rycroft.

Freud believed that dreams could only be interpreted by means of the dreamer's assistance. His method of dream interpretation was to break the dream down into its elements, or objects, and to get the dreamer/patient to free-associate with respect to each element or object of the dream in order to identify what it meant for them. I have tried this with respect to some of my dreams, sometimes with stunning success.

Jung had different ideas. He was into studying the symbolism of mythology and using this to identify the meaning that our dream symbols have.

Of course I am over-simplifying massively, according to my rough and ready understanding of the subject, but I think this is the jist.
