First and foremost, your issues are NOT "pathetic"--they are yours, and you are struggling through them bit by bit. If anything, that's extremely admirable. Nobody can judge anybody else's pain, so nothing you feel is invalid or "pathetic."
Ohhhh my friend, I feel for you! Sometimes it's so hard to just hang on a little bit longer, a little bit longer... depression can make a minute feel like forever!!! But the fact that you are HERE asking for HELP tells me one hugely important thing--You want to make it through this! It's difficult, yes, but something inside of you is already committed to healing and wholeness, and you're taking your first big step in the right direction. GO YOU!!!

We will all of course be here for you whenever you need us, but I'd also suggest finding someone close to you who you can call, visit, or talk to in person for support during these next few days. I know it's often very, VERY hard to open up to other people, but if you are indeed struggling to stay alive, it's just as important to find a place where you are absolutely safe, if push comes to shove.

There are also forums here on PsychCentral dedicated specifically to dealing with the
voices you're describing--not pushing you away, mind, but I don't think I can help with that as much as the folks who are dealing with that issue can. What you are "hearing" does indeed make sense, and is something you should be proud you're seeking help for. Again, it's that all-important first step!! Don't let 'em get you too down.

Otherwise, just try to focus on the little, everyday things you have to do (brushing teeth, filling out paperwork, getting dressed, driving the car, fixing dinner) so you don't dwell on what's hurting you too much, and try not to spend too much time alone (unless, of course, that helps you). I find that when I'm really depressed, being around people, especially in situations I enjoy, helps me feel less horrible and a lot safer with myself.

Good luck, and do please keep us posted!!
