Thanks, Sunrise et al.
I usu attempt to be all-inclusive in my reporting, but not this time around.
My PH program gave me info on a number of programs. I've checked with (almost?) all but am having the problems with: functioning level and acceptance of Medicare. I find a lot of programs can't say whether they take Medicare or not--they just don't know or think they don't. Program staff are usu. not well-informed about ins. Medicare operates in its own sphere when it comes to insurance coverage. Trying to get Medicare to tell you about locations in your area for given treatments is virtually useless, I’ve found.
I posted on a NAMI board. There's a local mental health assoc. that I'll post on and try again to make direct contact with them again.
I went to a free, brief therapy place staffed by pro-bono T's and met with someone advised that I talk to County Soc. Services and get a case manager who can then help with finding programs--hopefully. She printed out some resources--but I already knew about them. See her next week, but I doubt she'll know anything more on resources.
I've regressed back4-5 weeks to when I was really bad off--I've put a lot of effort into looking for DT and have come up with nothing--yet. Down to a few options. I always do a LOT of research on my own, but not having a local T who's tied into this stuff directly is a problem. In crisis, I’m still using my NYC T for the immediate. Hopefully I can get someone good with the County to get better inside info.
But it’s all Sisyphean as I get directed to the same, unhelpful, resources over and over.
