Same thing, but on it 10 years or so. Good results to help delusional thinking (mostly paranoia), but gained 50 lbs. that has now brought me to high blood pressure & high cholesterol & diabetes. So finally got off Abilify a couple months ago (added Topamax)--still taking a bunch of other stuff like Lamictal, Topamax, Klonopin, Concerta, etc. Weight gain is a huge side effect (no pun intended) that has to be addressed. It is not only detrimental physically as I have now found out, but my self-esteem is now in the gutter with all this extra weight.
