I think there could be some feelings on his part... I had a gay friend (R.I.P.) that I knew all the way back to the start of middle school where he developed a school boy crush on me and that crush never wavered even though he became open about his life style ten years later.... this good friend passed away a year ago and he still displayed his crush on me until the day he died (twenty-five years).
