I used to wake up with horrible headaches from grinding my teeth.
I went to a prosthodontist and had a splint made for my mouth. It's just a small plastic fitting that gets moulded to fit two teeth.
It fits onto your top two front teeth. It simply stops you from having the ability to close your jaws at night. Much the same as a mouth guard would, but an 8th of the size. Your dentist should be able to point you to some-one who knows how to make them.
Anyway it sure stopped my headaches.
