Why do people seem to have such odd dreams?

I always seem to dream about two things...

Video games and it's relating topics and very odd situations.

The video game dreams I have (mostly) involve The Legend of Zelda, which makes sense, I love those games.

Then, the odd, odd dreams I have include, wearing pants made out of Lego blocks, getting chased by camels in my front yard, and a school peer singing a Japanese song for no reason.

They say that dreams are ways that your sub conscience tells you things, but what would showing camels in my yard say about my current life now?

I've looked into dream interpretation, but it never seemed to answer my questions. Really, the only dream I can explain was the girl singing in Japanese because I was sleep with Japanese music in the background.

Do dreams truly show who you are? If that's the case, everyone is really, really quirky. Since, afterall, everyone has random dreams. Right?
