It was Mother's day in the UK yesterday. My family decided to take me out for a meal. So we went to this place where we know the food is pretty good. Well, we sat down at a table that had dishes on it that needed clearing from the previous people and waited to be served. Many times I tried to catch the waitresses eye and even put my hand up to get attention. Other people were getting served before us that had only just come in!
My hubby was quietly exploding inside, the children were starving. This was 50 minutes after we'd sat down! Hubby said that if he saw the waitress serve anyone else that he would just get up and leave. Well, the waitress served the people on the opposite table to us! So hubby upped and left. I went up to the waitress and gave her some 'feedback!' (I'll leave it to your imagination as to what exactly I said!)
Anyway, it took a long time to calm everyone down and then I came up with an idea. We'd go to the supermarket, buy all the stuff we want and go and find somewhere nice to have a picnic. And that's what we did. We found the most beautiful spot by a river and had a wonderful picnic! It sure did beat sitting in a stuffy restaurant not getting served!
