I have been told by highly trained medical doctors that it is normal for some people who have bipolar disorder to hear "voices" that obviously aren't there. And it's not a sign of another psychiatric disorder.

I hear 2 male voices and one young female voice. (I'm an adult) It's like a grown up having an imaginary friend(s). I know they aren't real at all and never have thought of them as real. It's like someone is having a conversation with you that is in the room. The "voices" are not threatening or asking me to do stupid or violent things. It's like having a friend in the room that you cannot see. I only hear these "voices" when I am at home and no where else. This makes it confusing for me.

Anyone else with only bipolar disorder experience similar things? I have bipolar 1 disorder.
