rhapsody, your sister can file a rebuttal to the 3 big credit report companies too. first she needs their reports and then she can send them a complaint that this is showing up on her credit report. that info will be posted then as a rebuttal to the false info. then that gives her some time to fix the problem but this part is easy and at least it will be posted so creditors can see her rebuttal and the facts behind it. hope this helps.
