Hi koreniebear,

thats great that you have had some time without any symptoms of ptsd - shows you are on the healing trail

Your step dads shouting is obviously a HUGE trigger for you - and you want to go see your mum so you are bound to run into him - can you stay in another room? prob not practical - the only thing I can think of is to try and do some relaxation techniques before you go.... when I know of a trigger - I keep rehearsing the thing in my mind to kind of get used to it - going into a certain part of my ward was a trigger so I used to imagine going in there and being calm over and over - maybe you could do that with your step dads shouting - .... not much help.....
