Little known to me, trauma had caused my brain to stay in this state of hypervigilance or readiness. The brain was doing it's job. Thanks brain!
But, it could not find that much needed rested readiness state, so I took things in my own hands and got some help by going to T and by using my calming techniques but the one that has worked the best is where I sleep better by altering the resting state which then minimizes the hypervigilance and the rumination. It's quite a change and would not have believed it if I had not tried it.
