I will quote DocJohn in one of his explanations for you -

"God" in a general sense is, because most religions have some sort of central deity, so it's just an easy way to reference that (alternative names for God are also allowed).
You can talk about "evil" and not have to get into talking about some sort of incarnation of evil (like Satan)

Guidelines also state that we cannot quote from any religious writing such as religious scriptures/books. Qur'an, Torah or Bible as examples.
