Hi Whickett.... To the forum!!
I hear that you are noticing some symptomology of possible dissociative disorders.
First....it is good that you are able to identify these symptoms. My suggestion is to write them down in a journal or something so when you do see a specialist, you won't forget anything.
Second, although a lot of these symptoms may feel familiar to you, I urge you to not self diagnose, or stress before you get an assessment and/or diagnostic tests from someone who knows dissociative disorders. I know...it is easier said than done. I just recently was diagnosed myself and went through my own OMG period...still kind of there actually!!
Since I'm not familiar with your location, I would suggest checking out a website that might be able to help you locate someone that works with dissociative disorders in your area, or, call this other docs office back and see if they can refer you to someone else in the area.
The website is... www.psychologytoday.com and they have a therapist locator. I think there are other searches available on-line as well.
Good luck in your search, and take care. Keep us posted if you like. This forum is very supportive. We're here for you if you need us!!
