The way we describe our feelings to ourselves matters a lot. For example, If I tell my self I feel like shiit, I remain rather uninformed as to the real nature of any real problem. If I can describe that feeling more precisely in terms of objectively categorizing a thought like, "i'm feeling frightened because of my upcoming hearing,'" or, "I feel sad that so and so misunderstood me." or, "my feelings of anxiety don't seem to attach to anything, maybe my cycle is rearing.." Do you see the difference between that and a more generalized emotive kind of description? One leaves you overwhelmed and powerless, and the other gives you meaningful information you can use then in applying your survival program.

Hope that's helpful. It's something I resisted a long time; it sounded hokey to me. It's made a lot of difference for me though.

tc, tryin.
