From what I remember, the veranda/terrace place was nice, but it's a walk to the bathrooms...

theres only one driveway up the mountain side to the college. the main road doesnt go up to the main building. CCC is in the adirondack Mountains. you have to turn off the main road onto the long curvy driveway that takes you upwards. the drive way is like traveling through the the deep woods because its forest land on both sides of the drive way. It takes you about three minutes of driving upwards on this curvy drive way then it comes to the clearing, then up past 2 of the three front parking lots, one near the gym building and the other to the side of the main building then it comes to the front door of the main building. The only thing different that they have done over the years since it became a college after being a hotel was that CCC widened the driveway and put railings in on the outside lane coming down the mountain cause its like a drop off cliff only with trees.
there is a map of CCC on their website. If you look at that you will see part of the drive way. on the left side you can see where the drive way runs off the page? thats where it starts down the mountain. on the right side of the page you can see a Y road spot. if you go down that way you will be brought around to connect with the road coming down the mountain on the left just past the wooded drop off spot.
oh I see you mean that gazebo type buiding that the college calls a veranda. no that isnt the terrace I am talking about. The terrace that I am talking about is part of the main building, in the back of the atrium. The atrium was the room you saw with the grand piano and trophy like case showing pictures of the faculty and what CCC looked like when it was a hotel many years ago. The atrium and the terrace isnt far from the bathrooms just a few feet, 5 at the most, down the hallway.
