I saw that a couple of days ago too. It was very inspiring! At the beginning, when she walks out, the audience is tittering and there is a murmur, like they are making fun of her. The camera goes to one girl who is rolling her eyes at the sight of this plump, birdsnest-gray-haired lady in a loose housedress. Then she opens her mouth and sings and it is silent! She is amazing! And by the end, the audience has completely changed their minds and loves her! It was wonderful.

Last season there was a similarly unprepossessing fellow on the show who was a car audio salesman. And he was fantastic too! I think he won. His name was Paul Potts.
