Do they actually work?? My therapist is recommending I start going to these. She isn't forcing me, but it's something I'd like to do. I'm just hoping that they don't start preaching about God or something. Is there any way to recover from addictions without turning to a higher power?

You dont have to turn to God as commonly understood, I didnt ,your higher power can be whatever you choose or understand it to be, I choose my inner self and it is getting me through it.

Good Luck with it and keep in touch
