No, you're not stupid at all... We ALL mess up from time to time, that's all it is... is a slip up. Don't let a slip up hold you back from reaching sobriety. We believe in you! Sobriety works if you work it. C'mon, let's get sober together.

Slipping is not that unusual for any of us when we try to get sober. It is a TOUGH thing to do but I know you can do it. Anything worth having is worth working for I have been told. It took me a LONG time to be able to get past the slips every now and then. That was just me and my not wanting to give in all the way I could NOT drink. All of us are just one drink away from being right back there again. That is something I remember all the time. Hang in there and keep working on it, we all are working on it each and every day.

Storm...
I can't think myself into right action, I have to act my way into right thinking. I spent my first weeks and months of sobriety real close to AA. I found a meeting and committed to 90 meetings in 90 days. I was scared! I sat around a bunch of "old timers" and they taught me a few tricks. I used to whine and complain that I didn't know how to do this spiritual experience thing. They taught me how to make personal contact with this power greater than myself. First, they said, “Don't steal anything from anybody all day long.” They asked me, “Do you know how to do that?” “Yea, I know how to do that.” I said. Then they said “Don't tell a lie to anyone all day long.” Then they said, “Do you know how to do that?” “Yea, I know how to do that as well.” I said. Then they said “Don't cheat anyone out of anything that doesn't belong to me all day long.” And they said, “Do you know how to do that?” “Yea, yea, I know how.” I said. Then they said “If I had been at all successful at those three things, and I hadn't had a drink by the time I lay my head down on my pillow, to tell God thank you.” I remember saying that that sounds nice, but I wasn't sure it would work for me. Then they told me the most important thing I ever heard in the rooms, “It didn't matter if I think it would work of not, it only mattered if I did it.” Acting my way into right thinking. This is a program of spiritual action Storm. Do it. On the road to the good stuff, Shadowalker164 |

Day one is my most important day. I thank God for my first day. It keeps me coming back. You reached out, you did the next right thing. I'm proud of you!
