Today is 5 months sober, which is the longest period of continuous sobriety I've had since around March 09. It's really hard, and I still really want to drink. But I know I'm better off sober.
I'm really happy about making it to 5 months so I wanted to say thank you to all of you here who have supported me and occassionally kicked my butt when I've been thinking about drinking. You guys are great. --splitimage

GOOD FOR YOU!!! That's really wonderful! You should be proud of yourself. That's not an easy thing to do - believe me, I remember !! Have your group get you into doing some service work --- that ought to keep you busy so you won't have as much time to crave drinking. lol That's what got me thru the first year. I was so busy I didn't have time to even THINK about it.

congrats, splitimage. as they used to say, you've come a long way, baby! reaching out to the newcomer helped me a lot in early sobriety. i know you are enveloped in sober activities and are dedicated to staying sober. i wish you well on this wonderful journey.

Congrats, that is so great, 5 months. My 5 months were at Dec. 15th.
There is so much I am receiving by staying sober. |
