Now that I'm done with rehab I have my days free. I'm job hunting, so that takes a fair bit of time, but I still have a lot more time during the days. So I've decided to go to my hospital's "Contemplative" Group on Mon. & Fri. as well as my regular aftercare group, for extra structure & support during the week. I did that when I was last job hunting, and it worked well for me. Plus it takes me into the hospital 3 times a week so I can take my antabuse under supervision, which at least ensures I stay on it.

Contemplative is a group that anyone can attend. You have 3 main types.
People pursuing harm reduction as a goal, people who are waiting to get into the core abstinance based group, and people like me who are absinant and who want to stay that week but happen to like the meeting times & / or can't attend aftercare for whatever reason, or like me want extra support.

I'd forgotten how depressing contemplative can be. As it's the entry point into addictions treatment there are a lot of seriously messed up people in the group. It's a really good reminder for me of where I've been & where I could wind up if I start drinking again.
