I've been wondering should I get treated or be evaluated for sex addiction. For the fact that I was diagnosed with bipolar I question it.
2 years out of my 9 yr relationship I had 4 different affairs. 3 of those just happened last yr. Only had sex with 2 and fooled around with the other 2. Then there's my husband's concern of me watching porn, which was never and is not now daily. These aren't excuses. It's how I am processing and evaluatinhg. I was told by a peer to visit a cognitive behavorial therapist.

Definitely go see a therapist, if you're not already seeing one!
I too, have bipolar disorder, and have spend most of my teen years being sexual promiscuous. I have been married twice and had countless affairs, and countless partners, in the past 6 years. I'm seeing 2 different therapists at the moment, because I feel like I have a sexual addiction as well. Bipolar can cause impulsive/risky behaviors, so I'm sure it's attributed to that as well. Good luck to you! <3 |
