sorry to put such a negative first post but i'm at my wits end, through my own fault though. over the past few years i have alienated everyone i know to the point of no return. i know it only happens when i get drunk and insult everyone beyond belief. so why do i keep letting my self fall off the wagon? no replies needed just don't know what to do any more.

Hi Roz G, and welcome to PC. ...great username!!! (((((((((((Roz G.))))))))))!
Many of us here suffer from Substance Abuse, many have sought help, many walk in sobriety, and have been able to reclaim their lives. "Alienating" yourself from everyone is part of the illness of Substance Abuse...I did it. I am finally reconciling with those I alienated...there is HOPE!!! I think it is wonderful that you are here. There are good people here who will support you should you decide to take that step towards getting help. They will even support you when you "fall off the wagon" we've all done it... You are not alone in this~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Welcome, and Pax~~~theodora Last edited by Anonymous32463; Mar 31, 2012 at 07:39 AM. |

Remember first that you CAN do this --- everything that tells you you can't is just the addiction talking. Seek out support. Meetings, those that have gone before --- these things are invaluable right now. It's a long hard road, but it is totally doable with the right support system.
Wishing you the best.

hi roz, welcome to pc
![]() the positive action is you keep trying to stay sober. take each day as it comes. be aware of the triggers that set off the obsession to drink and avoid them. we've all struggled in one way or another. don't beat yourself up. just brush yourself off and try again. you seem to have the desire to be sober. that's a good start. i wish you well and glad you posted.
