Its becoming a problem. I know it isnt as serious as other things, but i still want to stop.

Today I was driving while drinking my third energy drink and I got disoriented. I've been off and on with energy drinks for awhile. I had to ask a friend to drive.

What I'll do is stop drinking them for awhile (trying to quit) and then I go back to them. They are expensive too, and I'd like to spend my money elsewhere.

My triggers are drinking them when I have to get up early to work and thinking about needing them to study when I go to college.

Can you help me? Like I said is better than doing real drugs but it's still a problem for me.

I drink them to feel good and be awake.

Substituting non caffienated things in place of the energy drinks works usually..

Any ideas for helping me? =P

I can relate to this as I have addiction to mountain dew. Unfortunatly it helps my depression. The days I don't have it I tend to move a lot less. But when I have too much throughout the day I end up jittery and can't sit still. Since I'm not working right now I've been drinking less of it due mainly to the fact that I'm not burning the energy off as quickly. However I can also attribute it to being less stressed I think. I think if we managed our time better and reduce the amount of stress and also work out it would help us ween ourselves off of it.

Subsituting caffienated things in place of energy drinks is a good idea...also though I feel I should point out caffeine is a real drug, certainly not as harmful as some others but I wouldn't underestimate it because it can be dangerous especially if you ingest too much.

The only other idea I have is maybe try drinking things with less caffine...energy drinks usually have a lot so maybe if you had coffee, tea or just regular soda that would help with cutting down.

Don't stop abruptly or you will likely get headaches. You need to taper down/off.
