i've finally decided to cut down on drinking.
i guess you could say i'm another example of someone who used to NEVER drink and is now having problems with alcohol. i'm not one who likes to blame or make excuses for why i'm wasting my life away, but i did notice that my drinking started after my breakup with my ex.
i knew that i shouldn't be drinking on meds by myself, so i told my dr. of course she wasn't happy about it at all, but she said if i must, to keep it to a 1 drink (maybe 2) maximum a week (especially considering i have a very low tolerance).
well... the past couple of months, my drinking went from 1-2 drinks a week to 4-5 drinks.
sweet vodka was giving me courage and made me feel numb which is what i wanted (still do). everything just became more tolerable, which was awesome.
my friends were worried - some gave me lectures and some just dealt with my drunken self, but i didn't really care.

i have been going through a 'depressive' mood swing in the past few weeks. i'd been drinking a lot more which let me to make some choices that i am not particularly proud of and also put myself in a dangerous situation...

i have no plans of being completely abstinent and sober, but just to cut down. i had a sober and pretty productive day today (yay).

sorry for the rambling and if the grammar is incorrect, i'm running on 3-4 hours of sleep and am half asleep.
just didn't know who/where to share

you may already know alcohol is a depressant so it feeds into your depression and makes it worse.
i'm glad you posted. i'm sure others may respond to your post. it sounds like you rely on alcohol and unfortunately this can lead you down a painful path. here's some info that may be useful. it lists some but not all of the indicators for alcohol abuse.
