Days of Healing, Days of Joy...............................Oct. 12th

"So often we search out the impossible - and then throw ourselves into trying to do it...............................................Anonymous

If we have an inner rule that says we must fail, one way to obey this miserable directive is to take on only impossible tasks and then predicate our self-worth on the outcome.

Such tasks may be impossible by their very nature (as in changing someone who does not want to be changed), or by circumstance (as in attempting to accomplish a two-year project in a week, or by our lack of personal qualification (as in an all-thumbs person who insists on being a brain surgeon). Any of these tasks will be "successful" for us because we certainly will fail at them. And unless we've gotten some insight into the insanity of the old rules, the more impossible the task is, the harder we'll try to accomplish it.

There are no born losers. We all deserve to win. Let's be sure we're taking on our next task not because it can't be done, but because it can.

and the opposite i think is self will run riot whereby we can scam for the results we want at all costs. this leads us to pride and ego.
on the other hand i fortunately have never set myself up for failure so i guess that is a good thing. i'm willing to try to tackle things and if it seems imposible to finish i can accept that outcome.
BUT i am far from perfect!
