Today is 8 months clean and sober for me. I'm pretty happy about this as I really struggled during month 7 with wanting to give up and just drink. Thanks to all of you who responed to my "Does it get better, thread?". It helped.

I think what I need to do now is figure out how I can incoporarte more recovery activities into my already overloaded schedule and how much time I wan to devote to Women for Sobriety vs AA. WFS is a better fit for me philosophically, but all the meetings I go to and the people I hang out with are AA.

congratulations, splitimage! you're moving forward. so very happy for you. as for WFS vs AA friends you can have both. whatever works best for you. you might want to try a women's meeting at AA too. not as many available but your AA friends may go to these.
at any rate the most important thing is you're sober!

A big big heartfelt congratulations to you! I am about one month sober now, and I feel that exercising and the whole weight loss thing has really helped with the sobriety. But 8 months wow! That is a feat.

AWESOME !!!! You're doing great, SplitImage!!! No kidding, you're really doing wonderfully! The first year is the hardest, but you're pushing thru. I'm really proud of you. Believe me, I KNOW how hard it is. I would NOT go back to that first year for anything, and God willing, I won't have to. But it could happen if I'm not diligent.

Keep on keepin on! You're well on your way to a new and wonderful life!

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations! I hope I can make it that long...it's been four months for me. When it gets hard, I think to myself...DON'T end up being a monster with no family and no friends...I already lost my mom because of it...I can't loose everyone else.
But really, congrats! You deserve it.

Happy day SplitImage! You did it! 8 months that is wonderful! Just a thought....I have decided without my sobriety I have nothing so I have to make sure I fit AA and NA into my day somehow because it gives me the tools for everything else in my life. I just hope you find the time somewhere, it just has to be! Congratulations!
