The demons still seem to be poking at me - I tell him to shove off

Yet I know it is because I want to numb, to runaway, not to feel, think,

My mind is such a blur and this is NOT on drugs

But life is ABOUT feeling, sensing, thinking, even hurting. Without all our senses we'd be dead! And that, we DON'T want.

I know there are times when we wish we were numb and couldn't feel because the pain is too much. But we have to learn how to DEAL with times like that. There are ways to do it. We can learn thru counseling, or AA. But we need to learn. I learned thru counseling AND AA. I figured I'd better have both, since I'm pretty bone-headed. lol

But drugs and alcohol are NOT THE ANSWERS. Those will KILL us. I'd be dead right now if it hadn't been for AA. And my son just recuperated from being on life support for about 2 months from alcohol -- his liver stopped working completely! The doctors don't even know why he's alive.

So think long and hard before you use again -- or drink again. I don't want you to die! Hugs, Lee

learning coping skills clean/sober can help. i went into therapy cuz i couldn't get sober unless i used this method combined with AA. it was the trick!!! not everyone needs to do the combo but i certainly did. i had so much pain inside, etc and didn't have a clue about living a 'normal' life much less cope.
