Is there a place to find an online sponsor kinda like a pen pal? I travel a bunch and need to develop a support structure. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for this!

This doesn't really address your sponsor question, but there are regular cyber-meetings at:

AAOnline.net--Realtime Open AA Meetings on the Internet

If you're really having problems, you can just PM someone & have a private conversation.

In addition, there are live AA meetings anywhere you go (just like drunks ) -- just call information & ask for Central AA. Folks are usually more than friendly to out-of-towners & willing to have coffee if you're having the "urge." It only takes two people to have a meeting,

Also, don't forget, your regular sponsor is just a phone call away. Keep the faith.

I think it's a great idea too! Maybe it's just because I'm an introvert, but I would much prefer to find a sponsor online. I am more comfortable in the online world than the real world, so I would be in on this!

Just to let you know, Java is not great nut on Mibbit, there is a 24 hour chat also. It is pretty cool. At times we get the whole gang on there at different times of the day..

I'm trying to find an online sponsor too. I go to a lot of face-to-face meetings, but I can never seem to find a good sponsor. The last sponsor I had was more concerned about whether or not my pets were fixed, than helping me with my program. The sponsor before that threw a tantrum in the middle of the fifth step because she somehow thought I was criticizing her religious views--I didn't even get to finish it because she was so upset with me!

I'm interested as well. I'm a former inhalant user looking for a sponsor who used the same drug of choice. However, finding an inhalant user in treatment seems next to impossible.
