I'm sick of this! I asked my husband tonight if he brought home any alcohol. He had. He put it down the drain at my insistence. I've done al anon enough to know how useless that is.

I'm so frustrated!!!

I'm glad he put it down the drain at your insistence.

Thanks. I just hope he doesn't just go out and get more.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to not have to deal with this.

Is he gonna try the SMART therapy? I'm looking at that for myself. It seems to have quite a big following and has been around awhile.

He did go to the meeting and he said he liked it, but since he was planning to drink last night (and would have) I don't know that it will be any more effective than 12 step. You have to want to quit.

If I were a betting person I would not put my money on him going to another meeting. (Unless he gets in trouble again).

Mustkeepjob, let me know if you go and if you like it.

I'm going to go to the online meeting first as that is more doable. I will try to see if I can go to a physical one close by. It's just I am going home now and I live in Tijuana. And crossing the border to the San Diego area is a chore, but I guess it also depends on how much I want this.
