Happy Thanksgiving guys. I'm so greatful that I won't be trying to control drinking around the family and that I'll have more room for food since my stomach won't be filled with beer. =) It's my second sober Thanksgiving and it's so much better than last year; I was a basket case last year! Last night I helped decorate for the alcathon my homegroup is having, and shortly I'll go to the alcathon, then my family's house, then back to the alcathon. Thank God for alcathons!!!! I hope all your days are wonderful today, and SOBER!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!! =)

Love ya'll,
Rayna

Yes, congrats to you for making it till the second Thanksgiving. It's difficult around the holidays when normal people are able to drink their wine and all. This year my husband and I got non-alcoholic wine, that Welches stuff. I won't drink, but only if I could get him to stop as well...that's an entire different thing. What the heck is alcathon? I'm glad all went well for you...looking forward is so much sunnier then looking back in the shadow, that's the way I look at it. You've made many accomplishments, you better be proud of yourself, you deserve it.

They have "alcathons" here on the big holidays, marathon meetings, food, fellowship. It goes all day so there's always a meeting and other sober people all in one place. It's freakin awesome!!!

I know what you mean about the first year and the second. It is so hard the first year is getting the drug or drink out of us and the second we start to really take a look at what we can do and OTHER GOOD THING IS we care for other people a lot more

My most sincere and respectful admiration and congratulations to you!!

I am from an Ohio town next door to the city that was home to one of the founders of AA. The annual Founders Day is a well publicized---but anonymous!--event there. It is fun to see so many people in one place with a common thread! And the motorcyclists that come! There are so many! When they all take off together it is noisy and parade-like! Fun!

I'm so glad you chose another road to travel besides the one you were on! Keep up the great work!

You're welcome!

I hope you make it there some day. It's a nice, but old, city and there is a lot to do in the area and a huge national park there.

Keep on keeping on!
