My sister's husband has developed a drinking problem. People are telling her to go to Al-Anon meetings but I don't understand how this will help him to stop drinking?

HI Cygnus8548
Your sister's husband should be directed to go to AA (alcoholics anonymous). Your sister would benefit from going to Alonon as they help to reinforce some great principles that will help her cope with his addiction. Alonon will not help him stop drinking. Only he can make that choice through getting his own help. |

Alanon will not help her husband to stop drinking. Alanon is for her and her support and well being.

Going to Alanon is a fantastic idea! For her, the most important thing is to take care of HER health.
