My dog gets high. Again. Again. Again. Evening. Again. Wow he's feeling pretty damn high now. Then again.

Sleep time.... Can't.

Again. Can't.

Again. Can't. Stay up a day or two.

--Repeat--

Or sometimes he could actually go to bed but he lets it wear off because being strung out is better than asleep.

Diacetylmorphine based lifeform, this dog of mine.

So if I hear you correctly you are having trouble sleeping. Talk to your psych doc.

OH Lord, it's an awful place to be when you can't sleep. It's been a few days since you posted this so I hope you had some sleep in the meantime. I am a chronic insomniac and can go days without sleep although I'm getting more now than I used to. I used to be insane with it and the more I worried about not sleeping the less I would get. After a few days I would eventually collapse and sleep for 24 hours or so but then I would be back to the same sleeplessness all over again......here's hoping you got some sleep.

Hope you can find your way to a qualified addiction physician. There are safe and effective (and legal) detox protocols available to ease the suffering during withdrawals. As controversial as it may be, replacement therapy is effective and it is the modern standard of care.
