I am so ashamed of my teeth. Years of drugs, throwing up daily, less than ideal hygiene, poor diet, stress... And I inherited bad teeth.

I have been avoiding the dentist because I don't want to face it... I would go to the dentist in the city where I used to live, since he got more stuff covered and wasn't as judgmental, was used to dealing with addicts...

I am missing so much enamel I am afraid I will lose my teeth. I hide them when I am talking to people. Though, for awhile, I was on nicotine gum rather than cigs and they stopped being as yellow... briefly...

I keep meaning to go to the by donation clinic for help but never get around to it and now they are shut down for awhile...

I can sympathize, my teeth are soon to be gone. I can't work up the courage to go to the dental clinic though. And I don't have the money for it either. Just do what you can.

Its as if people (including myself) look at bad teeth as a moral issue where as something like bad skin is just bad luck...

Thats how I judge myself, at least. Oh well. I am moving forward.

I don't know if people see it like that. I guess some do but I think that's the result of losing teeth being such a universal fear. In my case, it was just horrible luck and not having flossed regularly enough.

I hate going to the dentist. The last time she said veneers should be on my treatment plan. Between drugs, coffee, cigarettes, and just not taking care of them they have weirdly placed stains. Also, they are crooked. I feel judged between that and my meds list, so I put of it off as long as possible.

You deserve having your teeth fixed. Make that first step. It might change your life.

It was actually probably an old crown or whatever. But I called the dentist. They will probably call back tomorrow. I wanted a different dentist that was better at getting stuffed covered on disability but I cant travel that far.
