I've just started taking this about 2 wks ago. 100mg, after 150mg was too strong & made me sick in stomach.
I've only read info about it online. Seems like some take it for the clarity.
I'm wondering if anyone takes it that alreAdy has MH issues & if it's helping.
Thanks

Not sure because I do not take it. Here is an article that might shed more light on it.

My pdoc gives me NuVigil which I think is similar to provigil. It's often used by shift workers. I have MDD and DID. I take a bunch of AD and the nuvigil is to combat the lack of concentration and generally being on top of things. I don't know how much is from the MDD and how much from meds, but it does seem to help with alertness and energy.

What's the dose of the NuVigil you take? Can you notice if you might skip or forget to take it?
Do you take it every day?

What I read about modafinil is that people take it for a certain amount of time then stop.
I'd like to take the modafinil everyday but worry about building up a tolerance to it?

I was on concerta for yrs & loved it but slowly built up a tolerance to it.
I'm looking for energy, clarity & alertness. I do get that from the modafinil but wonder about the dosage.
Thanks for the reply!

Sorry I don't know about this med but is it some sort of stimulant? I have a history of abusing adderall or more recently, vyvanse. I'm prescribed 70mgs of vyvanse a day for binge eating since it suppresses your appetite. I find that I quickly build a tolerance so I try not to take it every day. But I've taken 100mgs at a time and always run out before my script is up. A secret I'm not ready to admit to my pdoc.

I take 150 mg, and not daily. I too am concerned about tolerance. I take it when I know I can't have a nap that day.

When I don't take it, I find it harder to concentrate, am less motivated, want a nap.

I noticed that 100 was just not doing much so I have slowly nudged it up to 150.
I wonder tho if I'm not getting the desired effect everyone talks about bec my depression bleeds thru it. Is my depression stronger than a stimulant?

I'm hoping to start modafinil soon. my insurance approved a five day "emergency fill" while I wait for further testing and diagnosis. Not sure how beneficial five days will be but at least it's something and I'm at the point of dozing off while driving so...

I'll be taking it for excessive daytime sleepiness. It's been ongoing since before my mental health issues and if anything, I think this fatigue was a trigger for them.

For most people the minimum dosage is 200, some go up to 400 or a little higher. It's chiefly for people with sleep deprivation due to sleep disorders. Higher dose may or may not help the depression as that's not it's chief effect.
