I have so much "backstory" on this person and my reference to him for the past 3 years.

Short version. Cirrhosis of the liver, Hep-C.
Now in hospital in induced coma for 5 days, after a perceived overdose.. but really withdrawal.
Heart valve infection, 2 strokes due to that.
He went back to Heroin after we broke up 2 years ago.
Getting over feeling personally responsible.. finally a little..

I have had to call Helpline a few times this week. I went back to drinking and nicotine. Don't sleep, hard to eat. I feel like I'm falling apart. Sorry for the disjointedness. I am so tired, cant think straight anymore.
Its been a long and scary road, to say the least.

My question. Has anyone else known an addict with so many illnesses? did they make it through?

Not sure which is scarier.. Him not waking up.. or waking up disabled and brain damaged.

This is one of the worst times of my life. He was my lover..we had so much.. and a best friend.
Hugs from:

I'm so sorry you're ex is so sick. An ex of mine turned to heroin after we broke up as well. It was hard to see him be so ill. I wasn't doing well myself with drinking as well. I begged him to stop and finally it took legal intervention to scare him straight. I still keep in touch with him. He thinks he has hep C since both his younger bros contracted it. I worry about him so much and I couldn't imagine if he was in your exs position. All I can say is I'm sorry. You can PM me anytime if you ever need to talk it out.
