Hello to all. I found this wonderful site after serching for information on depression. A little about myself . I'm an employed 55 y/o male that was on suboxone for an old back issue . The doctors then had me on a large amount of pain relievers. Got addicted to them . Was told to elect surgery or he was to take me off pills. Well at that point I new i needed a new Doc. So. I took a weeks vacation and checked myself in a detox program after suffering opiate w/d 's . Upon leaving the ctr.I was to follow up to a pain clinic.and was put on suboxone 3 .8 mgs 3xs. a day. wich is unheard of .Now I have since [ 9 years later } have myself down to .1 mg a day ready to jump off that cycle. Suffered a lot of depression , anxiety , sleep disorders. Here I am getting myself together with very little help from my work ins. and psych.. dr. Who want to put me on zoloft . Tried that but it was not for me. I feel that after doing rec drugs back in the early 80s. i kind of know what i can take and not take. Looking for someone who has had this experience and how to go on in life with out all the chem. Thank You for letting me share my story.
Hugs from:

Hello onegreatguy08: Well... the Skeezyks can't really relate directly to your concerns. I've certainly had my own back issues... along with a variety of mental health concerns. But I never got into taking anything for the back issues. I have been on a number of different antidepressants over the years... none now.

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

Hi, welcome to the forums! I don't have direct experience regarding Suboxone but others here might. Glad you are here.

I'm freshly detoxed from suboxone but I used meds and an herbal tea that im not allowed to name on here. Actually 24mgs a day is the typical starting dose but I started it recreationally and always just took 2mg. Well there was that day I accidentally took two subutex thinking it was something else. But if you're at 1mg I think you should go to 1mg every other day or .5mg a day. I know it's hard to cut the strips that small but you can. If you have the tabs then you can't cut them down that low so make sure your doc is giving you strips. If you have any questions you can PM me.
