I have been on suboxone since December. I'm just wondering if anyone else here is on it? How's it been going for you?

WARNING POSSIBLE DRUG TRIGGERS My personal care physician sent me too who I called dr.suboxone after I told him I was addicted too the oxycodone he prescribed me monthly to keep working and not have shoulder replacement surgery because I'm to young. The Suboxone wasn't for me. It affected my vision and balance. I have to say it took away the withdrawal symptoms in a half hour. They said it wasn't addicting but I say it's a lie. I was on it for 2 months and when I said I couldn't work while taking it he cut me off. three days later I was in withdrawal again. It's not as intense but it lasts a long time. I called my PCP his nurse said he didn't want to see me anymore.

I was addicted to suboxone for four years at even a low dose. I'll tell you, it's the worst withdrawal ever and can last up to 6 weeks. It's a safe alternative but in my opinion your better off withdrawaling from the first addiction. A friend of mine actually had to go to rehab for suboxone addiction.
Thanks for this!

Yes , I am and it saved my life. The question is why are you on it ?
Are you detoxing from recreational opioid use ? Do you have chronic pain ?
If your just detoxing from a psychological addiction it should help ease the withdrawals , but then you should be weaned off of it. I ran the gamut of opioids that were prescribed for chronic pain. They almost killed me. By a twist of fate I found a dr. who used suboxone to detox me from my PHYSICAL addiction. I never abused opioids . Always took as prescribed. Psychologically I hated them
because they ruined my life , yet took away most of the pain so I kept taking them. PERSONALLY I believe suboxone to be a wonder drug. I'm now on a low dose to help take the edge off of the pain. The rest I have to eat.
For ME , I know my body will go through a withdrawal when the time comes to stop. I will have to deal with that then. My fear is , will they have something , besides opioids , that can help ease my pain ?

In the meantime I wish more people in the health care profession would learn what suboxone is , as many don't, believe it or not , and educate the general public on the difference between psychological and physical addiction. ( You can also have both ).
I hope you find what works for you. I wish you the best.

What got me off subs was a severe taper and a type of tea that's illegal in like 5 states but they won't let me talk about it here. Anyone can PM me with questions. I'm telling you that tea saved me. But then again I was tapered down to .5mg. Literally nothing but still enough to cause WD.
Thanks for this!
